February 5, 2019 - We are visiting Capitol Hill next week in order to meet with the New England congressional delegation. During our visit from February 11-15, we hope to meet with all 33 Senators and Representatives (or their staff) to relay concerns facing our SSA New England bargaining unit members. The 75 Boston region offices we represent include field, hearings, and the workload support unit. The work we do as frontline SSA employees has a direct impact on the American public and we need to reiterate that to Congress. We are seeking numerous items to help us do our job effectively while serving America.
We were successful in securing a FY 2019 budget which avoided the pitfalls of a shutdown and let us operate business as usual including our pay. We are striving to do the same for FY 2020. If you like to write a note outlining the problems you have at work, we would be happy to deliver it to your Senator and Representative during our visit. Please use the Contact Us link above to learn how.
